We helped Riverbend Landfill change community perceptions about landfills.
The revamped website, community outreach programs and collateral materials encouraged people to consider that a landfill could also be a local clean energy producer, a wildlife habitat, or one of the community’s primary recyclers.
Making a connection between the waste people leave at their curbside for pickup, and the decomposing waste in the landfill that naturally produces methane gas, we helped Riverbend introduce community influencers and the general public to the concept of a local gas-to-energy plant to provide renewable energy for up to 2500 homes and businesses. Riverbend’s Green Energy Plant, featuring six large generators powered by landfill gas, recently went online.
